Description

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The contractor shall provide the complete design and subsequent construction of a new parking garage. Construction will be on an existing parking lot; however, a third-party contractor will provide off-site parking during construction of new parking garage. The project includes the design and construction of a new parking garage of approximately 42,260 gross square foot (133’x122’) at the G.V. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi that, at a minimum, includes the following: parking for up to 464 vehicles; ability to add up to two (2) more levels later; ADA parking stalls per local, state and federal regulations; landscaping and lighting; emergency communication and security system; parking management system with programmable LED signage; fire protection system per local, state, and federal regulations; antiterrorism features per FEMA-426/BIPS-06/October 2011, and betterments where feasible. The project also includes demolition/removal of existing items that are located within the footprint of the proposed parking garage. This includes, but not limited to, excavation required to construct the foundation, removal of asphalt, removal of concrete curb and gutter, and etc. Design of the structure shall meet the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs design criteria for parking structures, site development, fire protection, elevator design, electrical design, and all other applicable design standards. The above-mentioned features shall be within the provided construction cost limitation of $11,500,000.
