Description | (CDBG-DR Project, GLO Contract No. 20-065-098-C270 - Loop 1781: Project will include pavement reconstruction of Loop 1781 from Airport Rd. to TX-35, along with related ditch and drainage improvements.) Bids are invited for s e v e r a l it ems a n d quantities of work as follows: 1. Reconstruction of a p p r o x ima t e l y 3 . 3 mil e s of roadway. 2. Replace approximately 5,800 square yards of paved driveways. 3. Regrade roadside ditches and replace approximately 3,700 linear feet of side-drain pipe. 4. Replace cross-drain pipes with approximately 1,200 linear feet of RCP and 250 linear feet of box culverts. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid [for those contracts that exceed $100,000]. A certified check or bank draft payable to Aransas County or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. The project to be constructed will be financed with assistance from the General Land Office (GLO) under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program and is subject to all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing Davis-Bacon and Related Acts wage rate, as issued by the Department of Labor and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin. Adherence to Aransas Co u n t y Se c ti o n 3 Policy is required for contracts and subcontracts in excess of $100,000.00. All contractors and subcontractors must be cleared (not suspended or debarred) prior to any formal action authorizing the award of a contract to the contractor. Minority Business Ent e rpris e s, Sma ll Business Enterprises, Women Business Enterprises, Section 3 Businesses, and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to submit bids. Aransas County reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by Aransas County for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award.
