Description

Repair and restoration of interior damage on the interior of the Historic Parker County Courthouse. Drywall Ceiling Repairs - spaces other than Courtroom 216 Plaster Wall and Plaster Ceiling Repairs not including Courtroom 216 Plaster Wall, Drywall Ceiling Repairs and new Stretched Fabric Ceiling Panels Installation at Courtroom 216 General Painting of Drywall and Plaster Walls/Ceilings including drywall and plaster components at ceiling of Courtroom 216 but not including Courtroom 216 Specialty Paint and Coatings/Glazes Acoustic Panels, West Wall of Courtroom 216 - Alternate including all electrical/fire alarm relocation related procedures. HVAC-related repairs - Courtroom 216 Scope of work under the roof repair project was included in this interior package as well as the interior courtroom ceiling repair to address all interior building restoration as a whole. This interior scope of work addresses the replacement and repair of the damaged interior finishes, including those damaged by structural reasons: 1. Demolition and Preparation a. Removal of existing portions of damaged plaster in walls and ceiling; b. Removal of existing portions of damaged architectural woodwork such as trims, baseboards and wainscots; c. Removal of existing portions of damaged wood floors in preparation for wood floor restoration and/or new wood flooring. d. Removal of existing acoustical blanket and fabric ceiling panels; e. Retain in place and protect wood decorative beams in Courtroom ceiling; f. Retain and protect metal medallion and ornamental metalcornice in Courtroom Ceiling; h. Remove above-ceiling audio speaker equipment; deliver to Owner. i. Dismantle or remove HVAC equipment and salvage for and reinstallation; j. Dismantle light fixtures and salvage for reinstallation; k. Remove damaged areas of gypsum board ceilings. l. Remove carpet and any associated pad and attachment devices in Room 112; deliver to Owner. Plaster Wall and Ceiling Repairs a. Patch walls and ceilings with plaster to match existing plaster formula; b. Reattach loose plaster with plaster washers in walls and ceilings with wood lath substrate; c. Refinish repaired walls and ceilings, entire walls and ceilings from corner to corner, except where indicated; d. Refinish repaired walls with stenciled artwork where indicated. 3. Gypsum Board Wall and Ceiling Repairs a. Install new gypsum board to replace damaged areas; b. Refinish repaired walls and ceilings; entire walls and ceilings from corner to corner, except where indicated. 4. Architectural Wood Work Repairs a. Install new baseboard, trims and wainscots, either full components or dutchmen, in accordance with locations noted on plans. Match existing in terms of wood species, profiles and finishes as required in repairs to woodwork. b. Install new facings, trims, stools, apron and decorative wood bosses, either full components or dutchmen, at wood windows. Match existing in terms of wood species, profiles and finishes as required in repairs to woodwork. c. Install new wood flooring at Room 112 to match existing in terms of species, configuration and style and finishes. d. Install new wood flooring at limited areas in courthouse (other than Room 112) as required to develop repaired conditions at these limited areas. Refinish to match existing. e. Repair and refinish wood floor at Room 307 full space. Masonry Repairs - Add-alternate a. Repair cracked masonry walls as directed in the plans. 6. Acoustic Treatments a. Provide, install acoustic window inserts at Courtroom Thermal Treatments a. Remove and reinstall previously faced fiberglass batt insulation throughout the attic space. This is part of the Special Procedures operation to allow inspection of the entire attic by the Structural Engineer related to the structural clips and repairs to dapped ends of wood joists. See item 8 below. 8. Miscellaneous Carpentry a. Provide and install structural metal clips to wood furring strips at attachment points of wood ceiling joists in attic space in accordance with directions by Structural Engineer Note: most clips have been installed previously (OF/OI). Additional clips may be required and will be furnished/installed in this Phase III-C scope. b. Install reinforcing for splits in dapped (notched) wood ceiling joists at attic space in accordance with directions by structural engineer Questions Due Date: Jul 28th 2022, 5:00 PM CDT
