Description | The Pecos WWTP Lagoon Abandonment Plan consists of earthwork as well as demolition and disposal of sludge mateial. The selected bidder will be responsible for the temporary removal of all sludge rom the Lagoons. Once all sludge is removed and stockpiled on site, the contractor will be responsible for testing of sludge to veify that the sludge meets "Class A" requirements, any sludge that does not meet the requirements for "Class A" Sludge is to be removed and disposed of in a landill that can accept this mateial; preliminary testing has indicated that the sludge in the lagoons meets "Class A" requirements. All sludge meeting "Class A" requirements may be land applied within village limits, with application rates to be veified by the Engineer pior to delivery; the village will identify pivate property owners that are willing to accept the sludge for beneicial use. All remaining sludge shall be disposed of in a landill that is licensed to accept the mateial, all sludge must pass the paint ilter test pior to delivery. Any off site hauling/disposal will require coordination with the property owner as shown in the plans. The contractor shall remove all structures within the lagoons, including the lagoon aerators and associated wiing and any piping, as well as the concrete aerator removal structure and crane. The Existing concrete Chloination Box will be removed as well. The pond liners shall be removed and disposed of at an appropriate landfill. The lagoons shall be graded as shown in the plans. Site grading consists of 4, 615 CY of grading, no import of ill will be required for this project. The pond bottom shall be graded such that there is no pooling to ensure positive drainage within the lagoon area. |
