Description

Wet and dry sprinkler systems are to be inspected and tested per New York State Building Code guidelines (4) times per year, and trip tested (1) time per year. Submit a full report indicating all the zones tested. Verify operation of all alarms and indicate test results on report. Make recommendations for any remedial work needed. Fire pumps are to be full flow tested (1) time per year. As part of the pump inspection and test: determine if pump is in service and in satisfactory working condition, thoroughly inspect components, control lines, mechanical condition, and adjust packing glands. Check for operation of relief valve and make adjustments as needed. Check and determine if pump is equipped with a properly sized suction and discharge line, check valve, bypass line and shut off valves. Check for properly equipped test header. Test jockey pump and fire pump for correct on-off pressures and adjust as needed. Activate pump from controller test connection to perform full flow test. Need to record voltage and full load amperage of pump. Compile and record pump data and submit a comprehensive report to include a graph showing pump efficiency. Restore jockey pump and fire pump to normal service after verification of proper operation. FM 200 Systems/Fike are to be inspected (2) times per year in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines and recommendations of NFPA 2001.
