Description

Repairs to Damaged Features of the Levee - Earthwork and Railroad Closure. Repairs necessary prevent leakage during future flood events at the railroad enclosure are: 1) construct new sheet pile seepage barrier on the river side of the existing closure structure. 2) CSXT Work Window - work to be completed within 10 feet of the centerline of the CSX tracks will be coordinated with CSXT and the Government. All work to be completed within this 20 foot zone shall be completed within the CSXT approved work window. The CSXT approved work window for this contract is between the hours of 6:00 PM to 11:00 AM the following day. The Contractor shall allow time within the work window for CSXT track crew to remove and restore rails the following morning. CSXT forces will require time at the beginning and at the end of each work window to remove and replace rail and tie(s) for driving of piles across the track. The contractor shall have appropriate equipment and procedures in place for night work. 3) repair water stop and seal of concrete abutment joints. 4) replace asphalt and timber sill of the existing closure structure. 5) fill in sink holes at the railroad closure structure.
