Description | Minor Annual preventative maintenance will consist of visually inspecting for integrity of electrical components including capacitors for leakage. Discoloration or damaged transformers. Excessive corrosion, rust or dust. Operability of all cooling fans and checking Minimum clearances for proper air flow. Check proper operation of remote status and alarms. Proper battery room ventilation/temperature, signage, and PPE. Visually inspect for any signs of battery electrolyte leakage, battery venting and overheating, terminal integrity, terminal corrosion, battery bulging, and general cleanliness of each battery unit. Replace customer provided air filters as required, clean UPS cabinet interior / exterior to insure it is free of dirt and debris, clean dirt and debris from battery cabinet interior and exterior, remove dirt and debris from battery containers and conductors. Provide data recording / measurement / adjustments by recording APC UPS System identification name plate data, record display voltages - line to line input / output and line to neutral input / output, display amps - input / output, display frequencies - input / output, and record DC float voltage and charge current (per battery manufacturers specification). Adjust inverter output voltages (if necessary) and review alarm fault history and equipment operation with customer. On the Battery system, record battery/battery cabinet name plate information, cabinet date code and battery date code, measure and record highest point ambient temperature of the battery string, record DC float voltage for each battery unit, measure and record ohmic resistance of each battery, record temperature of the negative terminal on each battery unit measure for DC ground faults and verify, adjust and record charger settings per battery specifications. Remedial action will consist of developing a remedial action plan with customer to address issues identified during preventative maintenance inspection and develop remedial action plan with customer to replace battery units where test values fall outside of the battery specification limits. |
