High-Speed Fiber Optic Network

Objectives are to establish a Network that: 1. is able to offer retail broadband services with a guaranteed sustained minimum 1 Gbps dedicated symmetrical transmission speed over each connection provided to a premises; 2. is able to support high quality voice, data and video services; 3. provides 1 Gbps service to individual properties using either a fiber to the premises network architecture or another method agreed upon prior to contract finalization; 4. is rolled out and made operational progressively but will be available to the entire community within 2 years; 5. uses an installation methodology that increases dependability and resiliency; 6. Promotes the long term economic and community interests of the City and end users.
