North Rockford Road Improvements

Roadway Widening. The City wishes to widen North Rockford Road between West Broadway Avenue and 4th Avenue NW. Due to restrictions within the right-of-way, development of multiple alternatives will be necessary. Any alternative design shall include 4 foot bike lanes on both sides of Rockford Road. Such alternatives may include but are not limited to the following; Widen to 4 lanes northbound and southbound, 4’ bike lanes. Widen existing to allow for a center left turn lane, 4’ bike lanes. The City would like to have a dedicated right turn lane at the intersection of W. Broadway and N. Rockford if possible. Replace Bridge: The City would like to fully remove and replace the bridge over Hickory Creek. Improve Storm Sewer: Storm sewerage along Rockford Road are in need of improvements. The City would like to see a full storm sewer design to account for the Fire Station and private businesses along the project alignment. This would include moving storm water from north of the railroad tracks south to Hickory Creek.
