Queen Bee 20/21 Timber Sale

This composite, per unit timber sale is a thinning of 176 acres of natural longleaf pine located in the Citrus Tract of the Withlacoochee State Forest in Citrus County, Florida (see attached maps). Timber available to harvest is blue marked pine timber located within the sale boundary. Unmarked trees, orange painted boundary trees, white marked RCW (red cockaded woodpecker) cavity trees, and white and orange marked isolated RCW cavity trees are excluded from the sale and are not to be harvested or damaged. The sale boundary is designated by distinct stand type changes, roads, recreation trails, and/or orange painted boundary trees. The estimated volume for this sale is 2,209 tons of pine pulpwood, 1,296 tons of pine chip and saw, and 495 tons of pine sawtimber. Total estimated tons to be removed is 4,000. The length of this contract is for twelve (12) months. Although excluded from the sale boundaries on the attached map and not calculated in the above volume figures, selective harvesting within the RCW Cluster Buffer areas and selective harvesting in marked areas north of the timber sale area shown on the map may be available for harvest subject to the time of the year when harvesting is occurring and approval of the forester in charge. Bidders should satisfy themselves as to the volume of timber present and the product separation.
