Argonne Bldg 362 Elevator Modifications

Partial demolition of existing elevator No. 1. Demolish the existing elevator cab down to the existing platform. Remove all hall call buttons and hall elevator floor identifiers and fascia. Remove the existing elevator controller and partial demolition of sprinkler piping in elevator machine room, electrical connections and existing elevator machine room exhaust equipment. The existing elevator machine equipment to be replaced. The existing hoist rails, and elevator platform are to remain. New modernization work will bring elevator No. 1 up to comply with current ANSI ASME A17.1/CSA B44. Provide and install new cab shell, interior finishes, lighting, new elevator controller, operator, all new hall fascia and patch and repair existing masonry walls where required. Provide and install a new air cooled condensing unit connected to a new fan coil unit to serve the elevator machine room. Provide and install all piping to connect ventilation equipment as required. Provide and install new sprinklers in the elevator machine room and top and bottom of the elevator shaft to comply with current ASME A17.1/CSA B44. Provide and install new electrical connections to connect the elevator into the building’s existing emergency power.
