MU Research Reactor - West Building Addition

General Description of Work: (1) Project consists of a new 3 story addition to the North West corner of the existing MURR facility. (2) Demolition shall consist of site preparation for the new addition along with minor modifications to the existing, adjacent MURR buildings in preparation for the addition. (3) Architectural work shall consist of new exterior enclosure, interior walls, doors, ceilings, flooring, painting and other finishes per the contract documents. (4) Structural work shall consist of new piers, concrete foundations, and structural steel frame. (5) Mechanical work shall consist of new AHUs, VAVs, ductwork, piping, control wiring, steam and chilled water tie in, and other associated items per the contract documents. Reference add alternates for additional HVAC work. (6) Electrical work shall consist of new normal and emergency power systems including a new transformer in place of the existing transformer. Electrical work also includes new lighting, electrical devices, and low voltage rough in. (7) New plumbing work shall consist of new fixtures and piping along with new sanitary tie in. (8) Fire protection work shall consist of a new fire sprinkler and fire alarm system throughout the new building along with tie in to the MURR fire alarm system.
