Description

The project will consist of repairing and resurfacing 3.3 miles of trail which varies in width from 10 feet to 10.5 feet to a consistent 10.5 feet width throughout. These trail segments are shown in green in the image below. An additional 0.3 miles of trail which has gradually widened beyond the original 4-foot width will be repaired, rebuilt, and resurfaced to a consistent 8-foot width. Work may include but is not limited to the minimal staging of materials on-site, demolition, staking, stationing, field engineering and problem-solving, excavation, grading, drainage, earthwork, shaping and forming, soil compaction, crusher fines compaction, site, and native seed restoration and weed control. The contractor will also provide all labor, materials, and equipment to complete work in accordance with plans, details, specifications, and incidental expenses. To minimize disturbance to native plant material and wildlife construction limits may extend two feet beyond trail edges. Staging of crusher fines material will be kept to a minimum on-site. A trail closure plan, including signage and posting requirements, will be needed to provide guidance and safety for the public while using the trails. The City and contractor will explore options to store equipment close to work areas and access to the site. For bidding purposes please estimate costs using the City’s typical trail detail for 90% of the 10.5’ wide trail and using the City’s wet/heavy use trail detail for the remaining 10% of the 10.5’ wide trail to ensure consistency among bids. The contractor will be responsible for all federal, state, and local permits including a right-of-way permit and Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP).
