Description | The contract will be awarded within sixty (60) calendar days after the bid opening. The bids will be submitted in a sealed envelope and clearly marked "Bid for Cummings Center Culvert Cleaning Project". The work includes, but not necessarily limited to furnishing all equipment, materials, and labor necessary to perform cleaning and removal of sediment, stockpiling, dewatering and disposal of sediment, and post cleaning CCTV inspection of 2,700 linear feet of drains ranging in size from 42-inch round to 6-foot H x 12.5-foot W box culvert and other related work. The Contract Time shall be ninety (90) Calendar Days, commencing twenty (20) days following the Effective Date of the Agreement. Questions concerning this Invitation for Bids must be submitted in writing by email to: David Gelineau, Purchasing Agent, City of Beverly, 191 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA 01915, e-mail: dgelineau@beverlyma.gov at least five (5) calendar days before the date set herein for bid opening. Bids must be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a certified or bank checks or bid bond, subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. The amount of the bid deposit shall be an amount of five percent (5%) of the Bidder's maximum total bid price, payable to the City of Beverly, Massachusetts. The bid security will be retained until the successful bidder has executed the contract with the City and provided all bonds and insurance binders, whereupon it will be returned. If the bidder fails to execute the contract and provide the additional documentation within five (5) working days of the Notice of Award, the City may annul the award and the bid security will be forfeited. Bidders may not withdraw their Bids for a period of thirty days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays after the actual date of the opening of the Bids. . The Successful Bidder must furnish a 100 percent Performance Bond and a 100 percent Payment Bond with a surety company acceptable to the Owner. Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instructions to Bidders section. Wage rates for this Project are subject to the minimum wage rates as per M.G.L., Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27H inclusive. The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest.
