The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) anticipates the need for a firm-fixed-price construction contract for a project entitled "Replace Chillers and Cooling Towers" at the Federal Detention Center (FDC) Houston located in Houston, Texas. Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204, the estimated magnitude of this project lies between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. (NOTE: This range is one of eight available ranges from FAR 36.204 and is not meant to imply that the project has necessarily been estimated/budgeted to the maximum of the selected range. It merely conveys that the estimate/budget lies somewhere within that range.) FDC Houston is a federal correctional institution located at 1200 Texas Ave, Houston, Texas 77002. The project consists of furnishing all equipment, materials and labor for the complete construction of the work. The project involves the professional design, labor, materials and equipment necessary for replacing the closed circuit chilled water HVAC components to include two (2) water-cooled chillers rated 400 tons each and the building automation system in the ground-floor powerhouse area of the building with properly rated equipment.
