Description

Summary of Work: Scope of work includes accessibility, code, life safety and risk deficiency correction, maintenance and operations, aesthetic and concessionaire upgrades. No bid shall be considered or accepted by the City unless at the time of its filing, it is accompanied by a deposit of cash, or a cashier's check, or a certified check on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the bid. If performance and payment bonds are required, the City requires the use of its performance bond and payment bond form unless, after consulting the City Attorneys office, the project manager finds that different bond forms satisfactorily protect the City. Before bidding, each bidder should show the City bond form to its bonding company to be sure it can promptly issue the bond on that form in the event the contract is awarded to it. Each bond must be for 100% of the contract amount and must be executed by a NC-licensed surety. Except to the extent allowed by statute, bids shall not be withdrawn and bids shall remain subject to acceptance by the City for a period of 90 days. Contract completion time for all work on this project is 240 calendar days. The Underutilized Business Enterprise (UBE) goals for this project are MBE 11% and WBE 7%. Prospective Bidders should pre-register with DTW Architects & Planners, Ltd. at the contact noted above in order to be e-mailed a link to download the project manual and bid documents, to be added to the Plan Holders List and to receive a list of bidders. Contractors may secure document sets after 8:30 A.M., until 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. Documents will be ready for distribution on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
