21K Verticle Mag Tanks

Describe a bulk storage tank for chemical deicing products. All components of the bulk storage tank shall be of proper design to safely withstand maximum stresses imposed under normal CDOT use. 1. Shall be vertical, 21,000 gallon capacity (+ / – 1,000 gallon),  2. Shall be cylindrical, approximately 12’ diameter 3. Tank color shall be tan. 4. Shall include two, 3-inch flanges w/gussets (1 siphon) 5. Shall include one 4-inch vent centered on top of tank 6. Must have a two inch plumbed valve near base of tank and a two-inch hose from valve to the top of the tank to assist in offloading trucks. Hose to be attached to tank with brackets at each end. 7. Shall include a 1” sight gauge/sight tube to visibly ascertain the quantity of material within the tank. 8. Shall include a shut-off valve and wind guard. 9. Shall include one 24-inch man-way. Bolt spacing on plate to be every 2 inches. 10. Shall be equipped with lifting lugs and tie-down lugs that enable the tank to be bolted to a concrete pad. 11. Shall be constructed with a non-corrosive material such as reinforced fiberglass or CDOT approved equivalent, capable of storing 21,000 gallons of magnesium chloride based materials. 12. The tank warranty plan shall be provided with your bid proposal 13. Shall give the CDOT Points-of-Contacts (POCs) listed in item 19 a minimum of 1-week notice for delivery.
