61 Smith Street Tree Planting Project

For soil testing and tree planting at 61 Smith Street, Buffalo, NY 14210. In 2015 Erie County began management and restoration of the NFTA owned 61 Smith Street, Buffalo, NY 14210 property. Since then The County has worked to minimize the invasive species present and improve the native biodiversity on this ~9 acre site. Trees and woody shrubs however, have proved to be more of a challenge to establish on site. The required soil analysis for the site should determine what soil amendments are necessary to ensure a better survival rate. In an effort to increase survivorship for future plantings, Erie County has purchased a water truck to provide water to new plantings. The County believes that these two additions to the planting project will greatly increase survivorship. Soil Analysis A. The contractor shall perform soil testing throughout the site to determine the soil amendments necessary for optimal tree growth. B. Soil amendments shall be made prior to all tree plantings based on the results of the soil analysis.
