Description | Scope of work: Design phase services may include the following: Review existing planning and programming documents and develop the final space program. Prepare schematic, design and construction documents. Compile and evaluate existing information including utility maps for the project. Perform all necessary field survey work to prepare the preliminary designs, architectural and engineering plans and specifications for the project. Prepare and submit the necessary design of the project in accordance with the City of Scottsdale Design Standards and Policy Manual. Design the project to the City of Scottsdale’s sustainability and green building goals. The original facility is part of the iconic Civic Center Mall as designed by Bennie Gonzales. Considerable public input is anticipated. The design team will attend and prepare presentation materials for public meetings. Obtain Development Review Board (DRB) approval and City permits Perform all the necessary coordination with utility companies. Manage the preparation of construction documents, special provisions, drainage reports, geotechnical reports and other documents as required. Prepare cost estimates throughout the design phase of the project. Provide value engineering input as needed. Incorporate the owner’s sensitivity to quality, safety, and environmental factors. Consider the incorporation of Low Impact Development goals in the management of storm water. Assist with Construction Manager at Risk preparation of Guaranteed Maximum Price(s). Construction phase services may include the following: Shop drawing and submittal review. Site visits and coordination with the general contractor as required. Attendance at the weekly construction meetings. Request for Information review and response. Issuing ASI’s as required MP&E site inspections that may be required for sustainability goals and/or commissioning and Final Punch list documentation Issue Certificate of Substantial Completion. |
