Description

Project consist of removal and cleaning of settled solids, trash and any foreign debris settled throughout the tank's floor. The floor of this tank is conical and contains approximately an average of thee (3.0) feet of sludge, trash, and foreign debris. The Aeration tank water inside height stands at 10 ft. side wall conically set to 17 feet center. It has approximately 3 to 4 ft. above ground level on the tank's south side and 5 to 6 ft. above ground on the North Side (see attached document). It is a circular concrete structure with a 100 feet radius, and 17 ft. in center depth. Its operating depth when full is at approximately 8ft sidewalls. The Aeration tank has been in continuous operation since it was retrofitted to aeration basin since 2011. It is estimated an overall average of settle solids contents at 3.0 feet. The methodology to clean and removed the basin sludge will not be specified by the City. Contractors must first get acquainted with the tasks at hand before they decide what method of cleaning will be used in preparations to submit the bid. All solids-debris encountered to include unexpected settle materials will be removed and transfer to the storage containers (provided by the city). This tank is classified as a confine space and all entry personnel must follow the confine space entry OSHA permit protocols. Contractor will be required to provide a work scheduled and submit it prior to project start up or any work is performed.
