Simpson Street Athletic Fields

Athletic Field Concept Plan for 12.2 acres of city-owned property located at Oconee County TMS 530-02-01-004. The concept plan recommends necessary improvements to the property bounded by Simpson Street to the west and Westminster High School to the south and east. There are existing playing fields adjacent to the proposed facility that are owned by the City of Westminster. The city seeks to develop proposed improved areas for playing fields, measuring approximately four acres of the total acreage. Additionally, the work will require necessary grading and suitable athletic turf grass placement across the remainder of the 12 +/- acre site. The project will include, improvements related to survey, civil site layout design, any required construction drawings cost tabulations, grading, removal and placement of fill, removal and replacement of turf grass, and orientation, layout, construction, engineering and inspections of one (1) soccer fields and one (1) baseball field, as well as other miscellaneous amenities no limited to open athletic turf grass fields on the balance of the site acreage. The project will include locating and constructing an irrigation well or new water irrigation tap for the fields and installation of sprinkler system. Alternate bid items include: 1. Fencing for backstop; 2. Lighting at baseball field; 3. Lighting for all fields; 4. Dugouts; 5. Walkways/paths; 6. Second soccer field (parallel to the parking area with potential existing slope and grade issues).
