Description

The MDOT SHA hereby notifies all bidders that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority/ disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this notice and will not be subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, sex, age, marital status, sexual orientation, sexual identity, genetic information or disability in consideration for an award. On Federally assisted projects, the bidder's attention is called to the Standard Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Construction Contract Specifications (Executive Order 11246) which is a part of the contract proposal. All of these activities shall be done in accordance with Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, as amended. It is the goal of MDOT SHA that Disadvantaged and/or Minority Business Enterprises participate in all Federal Aid and State contracts, as applicable. Each contract will contain a specific participation goal. County: Howard Classification: C ($500,001 to $1,000,000) Funding: Federal F.A.P. Number: AC-NHPP-G-251-1(93)E The project includes the construction of 0.17 miles of sidewalk along southbound US 1 in Jessup, Maryland. The benefit of this project is to provide an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant pedestrian path between Cedar Avenue and Crestmount Road, where there are already signs of existing pedestrian movement. The limits of construction extend from the Cedar Avenue intersection to the Crestmount Road intersection. An approximately 360-foot long retaining wall composed of 42-inch F-shape concrete traffic barriers (See Standard No. MD 648.54) and partial reconstruction of the existing US 1 Structure #130004 over Dorsey Run are required for the sidewalk installation. There will be minor intersection updates to add a pedestrian crossing at Crestmount Road. Pre-Bid Conference: A Pre-Bid Conference has not been scheduled for this Project Minimum wage rates for each Project, if applicable, have been pre-determined by law and are set forth in the Invitation for Bids (IFB). Bids must only be made upon latest the electronic proposal forms (and attachments) that are furnished by the Administration. In accordance with State Finance and Procurement Title 13 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, no bid, performance or payment bonds are required for bids less than $100,000.00. However, bids $100,000.00 and above will not be considered unless a Bid Security is submitted as outlined in the Invitation for Bids. Bid Security shall equal at least 5 percent (5%) of the total amount bid, unless otherwise stated in the IFB. Also, the successful bidder will be required to supply Payment and Performance Bonds for all Contracts in excess of $100,000.00, unless otherwise stated in the IFB.
