Description

The work covered by this section consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment and performing all work required for the prevention of environmental degradation during and as a result of construction operations under this contract. These requirements are in addition to any environmental protection requirements elsewhere in these specifications. For the purpose of this specification, environmental pollution is defined as the presence of chemical, physical, or biological elements or agents, not naturally occurring at the site, which adversely affect human health or welfare; unfavorably alter ecological balances important to human life; affect other species of importance to humans; or degrade the utility of the environment for aesthetic and recreational purposes. The control of environmental pollution by the contractor requires consideration of air, water, and land, and involves noise control, solid waste management and management of radiant energy and radioactive materials, as well as other pollutants. This section also requires the protection of cultural and historic resources. This project will provide Construction service for a 10 Year Image Update to the existing 7296 SF Pendleton Express at JBLM, WA. This solicitation is issued by the Army and Air Force Exchange Service which is an instrumentality of the United States Government. The cost of the project is estimated to be in the range between $1,000,000.00 and $2,500,000.00. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The construction period will be 90 calendar days. Please pay particular attention to section 3.A.61.d in the Agreement Document which covers minority and female participation goals established for federally involved and non-federally involved construction work. Any questions you may have after comparing the plans and specifications to the existing site conditions should be submitted in writing to Nikisha Knowlton at knowltonn@aafes.com no later than COB on 03/21/2023.
