| Description | The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. The purpose of this bid is to obtain competitive bids for green slash pine cones from the Second Generation Slash Pine Seed Orchard at Blackwater River State Forest (SFI Certified Forest #NSF-SFI-FM-C0245755). Up to a maximum of two companies will be allowed to purchase green cones collected by Florida Forest Service from contract execution through November 15, 2019. A minimum of at least 250 bushels of cones must be purchased from the Florida Forest Service . Florida Forest Service expects to have between 500 to 700 bushels of green slash pine cones available for purchase. The highest bidder will be awarded the opportunity to purchase the entire amount of available green cones from the Second Generation Seed Orchard. In the event that the highest bidder does not wish to purchase the entire amount of cones available; the second highest bidder will be allowed to purchase the remaining amount of cones. Bidders should note that the green cones come from orchards that are not under active pest management and that the cones will not be graded by the Florida Forest Service during collection. Please pay special attention to the draft state land sale agreement as this document identifies special conditions and penalties. | ||
