Description

A. Contractor to follow all of the Manufacturers system requirements and details to comply with full system warranty requirements. B. Work under this section includes the installation of a new EPDM Roofing System. This is composed of minimum R30 tapered polyisocyanurate insulation fully adhered to concrete deck with 1/2 high density insulation cover board adhered to insulation with low rise foam adhesive, and fully adhered 60-mil EPDM membrane for a 20-year fully system warranty. C. Contractor shall include in the base bid, removal and disposal of existing system down to existing roof deck. D. Contractor shall include in their bid, unit pricing for any wood and steel deck replacement that may be necessary. The Owner's representative reserves the right to inspect the roof deck prior to new deck installation. E. Contractor shall be responsible for locating all conduits fastened on the underside of steel deck. All Conduits must be located prior to installing any mechanical fasteners. Contractor is also responsible for any interior disturbances caused by hitting of conduit/gas lines. F. Contractor responsible for all measurements of edge metal and coping systems. G. All curbs less than 8" in flashing height shall be raised by adding wood blocking. All blocking and costs associated with raising units exhaust fans, etc., are the responsibility of the roofing contractor and should be included in bid price. H. Contractor shall be responsible for all additional wood blocking necessary at roof edge locations to accommodate new insulation heights. Middle School Roof Replacement A proposal shall be rejected unless accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total of the Base Bid. Bid Security shall be in the form of a certified check or bank cashier's check payable to Owner or a Bid Bond in the form set forth herein, naming as obligee, the Owner. The Owner may declare the Bid Security forfeited to the Owner if, following such issuance of a Notice of Intent to Award to the apparent lowest responsible Bidder, such Bidder fails to deliver the items required for complete evaluation and for contract execution required by the Bidding Documents and within the time required by the Bidding Documents. The Bidder acknowledges that a condition of the Contract is that time is of the essence of the Contract and the number of calendar days within which, or the dates by which, the Work is to be substantially completed and finally completed and ready for final payment (the Contract Time) are set forth in the Contract Documents and are accepted by the Bidder without exception or conditions. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES Provisions for liquidated damages are set forth in the Contract Documents. Owner reserves the right to reject Bidder if he cannot satisfy all of the Qualification Requirements, including those listed in the Technical Specifications.
