Description All maintenance requirements shall be performed in accordance with Postal Service guidelines and manufacturer's technical manuals and current operation/maintenance bulletins. The preventive maintenance functions listed in the subsequent paragraphs are representative of minimum required maintenance to be performed and are to be used as guidelines. Specific requirements shall be defined by site, both in terms of equipment needing service and services to be performed; due to differences resulting from age and application of similar equipment some maintenance functions may not be applicable to all service sites. All manufacturers' specifications as detailed in technical manuals and/or other reference materials shall be implemented in conjunction with necessary safety precautions. All tasks/items shall be performed as equipment condition and operating status allows; i.e. if a unit cannot be started up, filters/belts/fuses could still be inspected and/or changed, unit could be visually inspected and cleaned as needed, refrigerant leaks could be tested for - all preventative maintenance work that can be completed as allowed by current equipment condition shall be completed. If unit is found to be inoperable at the time of PM visit, perform as much of the PM scope as unit allows and report inoperable status to the installation head.
