a. Kiryas Joel Public School (“PS”) 1 Dinev Road Monroe New York 10950 845-782-2300 b. Kiryas Joel Early Childhood Educational Center (“ECEC”) 655 County Route 105 Monroe New York 10950 845-781-4422 Design, furnishing and installation of lighting and flooring in classrooms, therapy rooms and other school spaces. 1. Room: Occupational and Physical Therapy Rooms Location: PS, Room #101 Size: 33 x 80 (2700 sq/ft) Components: a. Meet with school administration and design committee to prepare a rendering of the space. b. Redesign will include child friendly wall décor, paint colors, lighting, flooring, a touchless sink and appropriate OT/PT equipment for functional therapeutic use by students and staff. c. Creation of workspaces for therapists and both seated and opened spaces to work with gross-motor and fine-motor development, including swings, climbing equipment and mats. d. Functional state-of-the-art equipment and storage spaces to provide a sleek, modern, organized and inviting appearance. 2. Meet with school administration and design committee to prepare a rendering of the space. b. Redesign will include child friendly wall décor, paint colors, lighting, flooring, a touchless sink and appropriate OT/PT equipment for functional therapeutic use by students and staff. c. Creation of workspaces for therapists and both seated and opened spaces to work with gross-motor and fine-motor development, including swings, climbing equipment and mats. d. Room: Speech Therapy Rooms Location: ECEC, Room #113 Size: 500 sq/ft, for 4 therapists Components: a. Meet with school administration and design committee to prepare a rendering of the space. b. Redesign will include modern, child friendly wall décor, paint colors, lighting, flooring, a touchless sink, workstations and desks for therapy in a 1:1 setting. c. Open play therapy area and storage space for speech supplies and equipment. 4. Room: Indoor Learning Center (“Main Street”) Location: ECEC, Room #125 Size: 919 sq/ft, Components: a. Design and installation of store front facades to complete the "Main Street" shopping experience for special needs preschool students. b. This imaginative play space already includes a slide and a ball pit, which should be maintained. c. The design should incorporate “sensory” elements to the loft, for students with autism. d. The design, furnishing and installation should include flooring, lighting, paint, wall décor, storage space and a “reading center” with bookshelves and a seating area for preschool students. 5. Room: Sensory Rooms Location: PS Size: Sensory Gym, Room #016, 555 sq/ft Sensory Corner, Room #021, 550 sq/ft Sensory Calming Center, Room #025, 135 sq/ft Components: a. Meet with school administration and design committee to prepare a rendering of the space. b. Redesign will include wall décor, paint, lighting, flooring, functional state-of-theart equipment and storage furniture. c. The sensory gym will require a swing, workspaces for therapists, and spaces for students to develop fine motor skills. d. The Sensory Corner in the ABA center will require spaces for students to regulate during work sessions. e. The Sensory Calming Center will require appropriate furnishing and equipment for students to self-regulate utilizing sensory inputs. 6. Room: Early Childhood Classrooms Location: ECEC Size: Room #111, 499 sq/ft Room #117, 701 sq/ft Room #120, 700 sq/ft Room #121, 561 sq/ft Room #122, 560 sq/ft Room #127, 560 sq/ft Room #130, 630 sq/ft Components: a. Design, furnish and installation in seven (7) special education preschool and kindergarten classrooms, to accommodate up to five (5) staff members and up to nine (9) students (up to 12 in room #117). b. Classroom should be designed for “centers” to accommodate a play area, reading area, sensory area and a 1:1 station. c. Furniture package should include desks, tables,storage,seating, touchless sinks and changing stations. A smartboard is already built into each classroom and the design should integrate this equipment. d. Flooring, lighting, painting, wall décor and ample storage should also be included. 7. Room: Elementary and High School Classrooms Location: PS Size: 22 Classrooms, each approximately 550 sq/ft Components: a. Redesign and refurnish special education classrooms to more functional state-ofthe-art, next generation learning spaces. b. Meet with school administration and Classroom Design Committee in order to submit proposal. c. Purchase, deliver and install the equipment and furniture, wall décor, paint, touchless sinks, flooring and lighting, including workspaces for students and staff and adequate storage. d. The 22 classroom should be designed using 6 prototypes: 1. Ages 5-10 Academic setting 2. Ages 5-10 Sensory/Play setting 3. Ages 10-15 Academic setting 4. Ages 10-15 Centers based 5. Ages 15-21 Academic setting 6. Ages 15-21 Centers based 8. Room: Multipurpose Room Location: ECEC, Room 132 Size: 929 sq/ft Components: a. Versatile furniture (tables and chairs) for use as a staff lounge, staff and parent meeting room, staff training room, and student activity and performance room. b. Design and refurnishing should include furniture, flooring, wall décor, lighting, paint and storage. 9. Room: Offices and Reception Area Location: ECEC Size: Reception, Room #102, 941 sq/ft Staff Office, Room #139, 716 sq/ft Nurse’s office, Room #104, 137 sq/ft Principal Office, Room #101, 133 sq/ft Components: a. Redesign and furnishing of school entryway and front desk area, including flooring, lighting, paint, furniture, wall décor and storage. b. Offices will require desks and storage furniture, flooring, lighting, paint and wall décor. c. Room #139 will require room dividers for the creation of multiple office workspaces.
