Description | The Project includes the following Work: This project will include the removal and disposal of the existing 15" diameter Asbestos Cement Pipe (ACP) on a 250 linear foot run of sanitary sewer. The existing ACP will be replaced with 15" diameter PVC between the two existing manholes. Within the sewer run there is a crossing under a seasonal stream, within the stream banks the new pipe will be encased in a steel casing pipe, then the casing pipe concrete encased. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 10 percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the necessary bonds if the contract is awarded to him/her. Bids shall be sealed in an opaque envelope and clearly marked as a bid for the Project. The envelope must also bear the name and address of the bidder. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the total bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the necessary bonds if the contract is awarded to him/her. A Performance and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the estimated contract price, shall be required from the Successful Bidder. The Supplementary Conditions set forth requirements for the payment by the Contractor and all Subcontractors of minimum wage rates for all classes of laborers and mechanics as set forth by all applicable provisions of the PA Prevailing Wage Act, and the Bid shall be prepared accordingly. The Pine Creek Municipal Authority reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to reject any and all bids and to award either contract to the lowest responsible bidder for the total of all lump sum items. No bidder may withdraw his or her bid within sixty (60) days after the actual opening thereof. |
