Description

The Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority (BJWSA) has decided to pursue professional services to complete fire hydrant flow testing and maintenance. The scope of work will consist of flow testing, cleaning, assessing operating condition, paint condition, nozzle height, and clearing of weeds and debris to ensure that each hydrant is in a serviceable condition. Currently there are approximately 8500 hydrants within BJWSA's service area. The contract will be for the flow testing and maintenance of 8500 hydrants averaging roughly 710 a month. Final award notification September 22, 2022. Within BJWSA's fiscal year, July 1st 2022 thru June 30th 2023, each fire hydrant will be flow tested to determine the current availability of water supply. Each hydrant will need to be assessed to verify the manufacturer, year model, pumper nozzle height, paint condition, and presence of a Storz connection. Paint condition will be one of five selections, and nozzle height at the pumper nozzle will be measured in inches from ground elevation to the center of the steamer cap, rounded to the nearest inch. The information derived from these test and assessment will be recorded using real time data entry system currently used by BJWSA. Questions Due Date: Aug 22nd 2022, 5:00 PM EDT
