Description | To provide curbside chipping and removal service of wood piles composed of trees, tree branches and Sage up to approximately 12” in diameter, via one (1) pass through every neighborhood in Summit County. The program duration is 8 weeks. Two crews will operate concurrently, one in the North and one in the South. If the winning contractor is unable to complete the job in 8 weeks due to crew and equipment limitations, the program schedule will expand to 16 weeks. The Chipping Program start date is Monday, June 13, 2022. The program end date is Friday, August 5, 2022. See the schedule and the service area map for further clarification. The County will pay a whole-program amount as a fixed sum not to exceed $142,500.00. For all wood processed up to 4,800 cubic yards, a flat rate of $120,000 shall be paid. For wood processed in excess of 4,800 cubic yards, the contractor shall be paid at a rate of $25 per cubic yard up to a maximum of an additional 900 cubic yards, for a total not to exceed $22,500.00. All roadside wood piles in excess of 5,700 cu. yds. remain the contractor’s responsibility to chip and haul with the understanding that no additional pay shall be remitted to the contractor. Final payment will be sent to the contractor in November, once all wood chips are delivered to their final location, and total volumes are determined. All wood piles set out by the community shall be collected and chipped regardless of total volume. If community participation levels yield more than the agreed upon payment cap, the contract will still require all piles to be chipped. |
