Painting of Communications Tower

Paint the County’s 300’ Binghamton radio communications tower Contractor shall repaint the entire tower structure which shall include the following: Provide all needed materials, tools and supplies to complete the project. Prepare surfaces by removing all loose or flaking paint, oils, grease, dirt, rust and foreign matter. Spot prime any bare metal areas. Follow all paint manufactures requirements and recommendations for prepping surfaces and applying paint. Tower shall be painted in accordance to federal standard FED-STD-595 using exterior Solvent-Borne Alkyd-Based paint, per FAA Advisory Circular 47 CFR 17.21-17.58 Paint to match existing color to meet federal standard 595 color #17875 for the white areas and color #12197 for the aviation orange color. Contractor must take care not to get paint on antennas or equipment mounted on, under or near the tower. All painting related debris and mess must be cleaned up. Provide pictures of the painting process including prep areas where rust and loose paint were removed from as well as pictures of the finished product for the entire height of the tower. Contractor shall be responsible for any required permits associated with the painting project.
