2020 Cleaning and Lining of Water Mains

Scope of the work consists of Cleaning and Cement Mort at Lining of approximately 5.2 miles of City water mains. This work is to be performed on various streets with the City, as shown oh the Contract Drawings. The water main rehabilitation method consists of mechanically cleaning the interior of the existing water mains to remove rust deposits and other foreign matter and them applying a corrosion-resistant cement mortar lining to restore hydraulic capacity, improve available fire flows, water quality and extend the useful life of the water mains. The contract requires the supply and maintenance of temporary bypass pipe and water service connections to all customers affected by the project. The temporary bypass piping system will be used to maintain fire protection and provide a continuous supply of water to out customers during construction. Some existing water main valves and fire hydrants will be replaced in this contract.
