Description | Village of Libertyville: Removing hot-mix asphalt surface and binder courses to a depth of 3", and replacing the removed material with new hot-mix asphalt surface, at selected locations along Old Barn Circle, Oak Spring Road, Woodland Road, Cass Avenue, Cass Court, Cedar Glen Drive, and Ridgeway Lane. The perimeter of surface replacement areas shall be saw cut to the depth of removal. The Contractor shall exercise care to control the depth of cut. Removal of the hot-mix material shall be done in a manner which results in a uniform depth of cut, and does not damage the underlying base or the adjacent surface. Use of a self-propelled milling machine is strongly encouraged. Libertyville Township Road District: This work will consist of removing hot-mix asphalt surface and binder courses to a depth of 3", and replacing the removed material with new hot-mix asphalt surface, at selected locations along Brookhill Court, Oak Grove Avenue, Fair Lane, Pinewood Lane, Cherrywood Lane, and Oak Spring Road. The perimeter of surface replacement areas shall be saw cut to the depth of removal. The Contractor shall exercise care to control the depth of cut. Removal of the hot-mix material shall be done in a manner which results in a uniform depth of cut, and does not damage the underlying base or the adjacent surface. Use of a self-propelled milling machine is strongly encouraged. Prior to placement of the new hot-mix asphalt, all loose material shall be removed from the excavated area. Bituminous material (prime coat) shall be applied at a rate of 0.15-0.25 gallons per square yard to the bottom of the patch area and the vertical edges of the adjacent surface. The composition of the surface mixture shall be IL 9.5, C or D, N50. The new surface material shall be placed in two lifts of approximately equal thickness. The first lift shall have cooled sufficiently before the second lift is placed. |
