Description | The project consists of work on six (6) courtrooms which includes the interior renovations of Courtrooms 2A, 2E, and 2F of the General District Court, Courtrooms 4C and 4D of the Circuit Court and the build-out of Courtroom 3J of the Juvenile Court. The renovations include the courtrooms, jury deliberation rooms, attorney-client rooms, audio/visual rooms, toilet rooms, and judge's secure corridor. The scope of work consists of asbestos abatement and hazardous materials remediation; demolition and replacement of existing floor, wall, and ceiling finishes; demolition and/or modifications of existing mechanical, electrical, and security systems supporting the courtrooms; new high-end finishes and millwork for judge's benches, witness stands, clerk's stations, court reporter tables, and counsel tables and restoration of existing gallery seats. All work shall be performed after hours and shall not interfere with the Court's operations in adjacent courtrooms, which will remain fully functional throughout construction. All workers will be required to undergo a background check performed by the Sheriff's Department of Fairfax County. All questions concerning the project shall be electronically submitted in writing to the Director, Building Design and Construction Division, Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, at the following e-mail address building@fairfaxcounty.gov and, to be given consideration, must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of the bids. This is a lump sum Contract. Contract length is 630 calendar days. The Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and irregularities in bidding, and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the County. |
