Engineering/Architectural Services

The New York State Office of General Services Design & Construction Group (OGS) intends to contract with up to eight (8) firms to provide Engineering and Architectural Services. Firms must possess a strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering background as assigned tasks will primarily be in these areas of expertise. Other tasks may also include fire protection/fire alarm engineering, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability. The majority of the projects will involve the rehabilitation of existing facilities. Firms are expected to provide high quality engineering and architectural design services for a variety of buildings and facilities for various State agencies, including but not limited to, the Department of Corrections and Community Services, Office of Mental Health, Office of General Services, Department of Military and Naval Affairs, and others. Assignments may include the following: Renovations and rehabilitation of existing structures and facilities. Compliance with the latest building code including review of work done by others for compliance with applicable codes. Application of energy efficiency and sustainability in compliance with the Governor's Executive Order 88. The firms must also be experienced in providing Commissioning services. A minor requirement of fire protection/fire alarm engineering, structural/civil/site engineering and architecture. A percentage of "urgent" projects that require expedited design schedules. Hazardous material investigation and design services for the remediation/ removal of such materials as part of the work of this contract. Possible construction management and/or construction inspection services as advisor to the owner. The team shall include an independent Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC). Services can be provided by the proposed design team including sub-consultants.
