Description

As of September 12, 2022, an architect has been selected for the project. Although a firm timeline has not been established, bidding and construction is estimated to take place in mid to late 2023. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: This is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to all qualified firms, teams, partnerships and corporations, hereafter referred to as Respondent, to submit a proposal for a completed design project for Meals Hill Park. The City desires to procure the services of Respondent to bring the current 35% Preliminary Engineering Report to 95% shovel ready design, and the other trail elements included in a American Rescue Plan Act Economic Development Administration Travel, Tourism, and Outdoor Recreation Grant application. The Respondent supplying this service must be adept in landscape architecture, trail engineering and design of park amenities and projects. Respondents will be working with a steering committee to help provide direction for the project. Submissions should meet criteria identified in section 3.14 and firms will submit one (1) proposal electronically through the City's drop box application: Deadline for questions is extended to 10:00am Alaska time on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 and must be emailed to Nicholas Farline at nfarline@valdezak.gov and cc: Wendy Robertson at wrobertson@valdezak.gov Current minimum prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor must be paid if required by law. The City of Valdez encourages disadvantaged, minority and women-owned firms to respond and is available to assist said firms in learning how to do business with the City. The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in a quote, to reject any and all quotes without cause, and to re-solicit for quotes. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time
