This specification covers the general electrical and mechanical requirements for outdoor service, three phase, KNAN, pad-mounted, compartment type, distribution transformers. Transformers shall be operated on the following 60 Hertz systems: 2,400/4,160 Volt grounded wye, four wire, three phase 13,800 Volt, Delta, three wire, three phase 13,800/23,900 Volt grounded wye, four wire, three phase Transformers may range in size from 75 to 3,750kVA and may be live or dead front configurations. The high and low voltage compartmental construction for 3,750kVA transformers shall conform dimensionally to IEEE C57.12.22 required dimensions for 2,500kVA units. “NES” or “Purchaser” refers to Nashville Electric Service. “Supplier”, “Manufacturer”, “Bidder” or “Vendor” refers to those involved with producing and delivering transformers to NES. “ANSI” refers to the American National Standards Institute, “IEEE” refers to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, “NEMA” refers to the National Electrical Manufacturers Association and “ASTM” denotes the American Society for Testing and Materials.
