Maintenance of Traffic for Inspection of Structures-Statewide

This is an on-call Contract that consists of providing labor, materials, equipment, etc., necessary to provide for the safe maintenance of highway traffic on short notice anywhere in the State of MD. This project also includes providing bucket trucks and underbridge inspection cranes, with operators, and any other necessary equipment and traffic control devices, on a daily basis for the duration of the project. A map of MD is included in this Invitation for Bids. This maintenance of traffic is required to provide safe access for Administration personnel and its representatives, and for the equipment used in performing bridge inspections. Roadway lane restrictions are typically required whenever using an underbridge inspection crane or a bucket truck positioned on a traveled lane or shoulder area on or under a bridge structure. Portions of this work may have to be performed on an emergency basis rather than as scheduled work. If an emergency situation arises, the Contractor shall give the emergency situation top priority until the emergency is resolved, even though this may be at the expense of other projects.
