Description | **As of August 26, 2022, project was awarded to O'Grady Paving Inc., awarded amount is $5,711,830.95** The Engineer’s Estimate for the above project is between $5,100,000 to $5,500,000. The City of Los Altos, Santa Clara County, California, invites sealed bids furnishing labor, material and equipment required to complete the project in the particular locations, of the forms, sizes and dimensions and of the materials and to the lines and grades and at the elevations as shown and delineated upon the plans and specifications made therefore. The project includes but is not limited to mobilization, deep lift asphalt concrete pavement repairs (cut & plug), milling and asphalt overlay on existing pavement, micro-surfacing, traffic control, striping and signage improvements, installation of concrete sidewalk, curb ramps, and curb & gutter, installation of loop detectors and all other items or details not mentioned above that are required by the contract Drawings and Specifications to repair various streets within the City of Los Altos. Location of Work: All of said work is to be done at the places indicated on exhibit list and map of street segments and locations, in accordance with these specifications. Contractor's License: The Contractor is required to have a Class A General Engineering or Class C-12 Earthwork and Paving Contractor for this work. All bidders shall be licensed under the provisions of Chapter 9, Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California to do the type of work contemplated in the project. Bid Bond: Bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check, or a Bid Bond in favor of the City in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price. Payment & Performance Bonds: The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the City with a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the successful Bid, prior to execution of the Contract. All bonds are to be secured from a surety that meets all of the State of California bonding requirements, as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, and is admitted by the State of California. The cost of said bonds shall be included in the Bid amount. Award of Contract: Said bids will be presented to and considered by the City Council at a regularly scheduled meeting. The City shall award the Contract for the Project to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder on the basis of the TOTAL BASE BID. Time of Completion of Work: The work shall be completed and ready for full use within 90 calendar days. All microsurfacing areas in the project must be completed first, and construction on School area must be prioritized for completion as well. 2'' Mill & Fill Streets: o Berry Avenue o St. Joseph Avenue Microsurfacing: o Portola Avenue o Santa Rita Avenue o St. Joseph Avenue o Jardin Drive Striping: o Almond Avenue o Oak Avenue o Covington Road Substitution of Securities: Pursuant to Public Contract Code section 22300, the successful Bidder may substitute certain securities for funds withheld by City to ensure his performance under the Contract. Rights of the City: The City reserves the right to cancel the project, and to reject any or all bids if not satisfied as to the price for the work or the responsibility of the bidder. The City also reserves the right to waive any informalities according to law.
