Description | Modify condenser water piping at NAC to resolve NAC cooling tower flow imbalance issues as per drawings Test operation of existing cooling tower valves and/or actuators by the contractor and if the valves/actuators are found to be inoperable, then recommend replacement of the valves/actuators Provide access to the internals of the main condenser water piping headers on the roof install t-fittings to allow periodic clean out of the piping Provide butterfly valves to isolate the winterized portion of the main cooling tower piping on the NAC roof. Include a redundant valve on the main condenser water headers on the NAC roof as per drawings Install three (3) level transmitters, one at each end and one at a center location of cooling towers 1-12 and two (2) level transmitters, one at each end of cooling towers 13-15 to monitor basin levels Insulate all piping on CT-1 through CT-15 and heat trace all piping on CT-1 through CT-8 as per drawings Integrate proposed modifications with the existing building management system install new, manual float valves on all cooling towers Provide attic stock for floats and float arm for cooing tower make-up water Replace heat transfer media (fill-sheets) and install drift eliminators on cooling towers 1 through 12 Install new gear drives, couplings and motors on CT-1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 Install new coupling and motor on CT-5 Provide one (1) new motorized lift jack and required number of pedestals at each cooling tower Install new basin heaters (two (2) for each CT basin) on CT-1 through CT-8 Install catwalk/access platform, stairs, guardrails and hot deck ship ladders to provide access to the cold-water basins of the cooling towers (CT-1 through CT-15) and hot deck of CT-1 through CT-12 Relocate and install new paver walkways on NAC roof along with crossover steel stairs as per drawings Recommend verifying and installation of new stainless-steel bolts in place of missing or damaged bolts on cooling tower fan-guards by the contractor Make provisions for a permanent roof opening with gantry in order to lift valves or actuators to the roof Reuse existing roof hatch adjacent to CH-1. The break room adjacent to CH-1 shall be demolished Add pigeon guards on all cooling towers at NAC Install new sand filter & ionic filter filtration systems on the condenser water and campus chilled water system as part of plumbing upgrades Install new and modify existing floor drains in NAC chiller room as per plumbing drawings Remove and install new NAC chiller room floor drain piping at NAC boiler room ceiling and drain piping to sewer connection as per plumbing drawings Install new booster pump system in NAC boiler room to supply cooling towers and sand filtration systems Remove and replace-in-kind cold water makeup supply piping, heat trace and insulation as part of plumbing upgrades and Integrate modifications with the existing building management system. |
