Description

The King County Housing Authority will accept Bids from Qualified General Contractors to furnish labor, materials and necessary equipment to complete the removal & replacement of electrical system as listed in the bid documents. Buren Park is a four story, one hundred two unit stick frame built building constructed in 1982. The building currently houses an elderly & disabled population. The original main power system that supplies power to the common areas, security systems, elevators, doors, & fire panel requires an additional circuit for an elevator rehab project. This project consists of replacing the main power box to accommodate an additional 20 amps. The existing box is undersized & will require upsizing the main power lead & panel from the City's transformer to a 400 amp service. The current system is a 320 amp box but cannot accommodate an additional 20 amp circuit. The base scope will include the design & building of temporary power, demolition of existing systems, & installation of new panels, breakers, feeder lines from the City transformer to the new panel (CT box), wiring, & junction boxes. The Contractor is to include in their bid the design & build of a temporary power system for the entire building, meeting all jurisdictional requirements, & power outages not to exceed eight hours in duration. Contractor to coordinate with Seattle City Light & City of Burien for inspections & jurisdictional requirements for temporary & permanent power hook-ups. After electrical approval from the City of Burien, the Contractor will be responsible for coordinating with Seattle City Light to install new permanent power from the external transformer to the new interior CT cabinet. After permanent power has been connected to the building, it will be up to the Contractor to make final connections. The power to the building must be turned back on at the end of each workday. Question deadline: 07/07/2022 at 02:00 p.m. Amount: Five (5%) Percent of the Total bid must accompany Each Bid greater than one hundred fifty ($150,000) dollars. Payable to: King County Housing Authority Process: Bid Bond or Certified Check will be returned to the Unsuccessful Bidders within Ten (10) Days after the Contract Award.
