Description

Notes All 6 schools to be visited, starting at Northtowne. This will be concurrent with the absestos removal pre-bid conference Northtowne Elementary School, 4767 Northtowne Blvd, Columbus, OH 43229 Medina Middle School, 1425 Huy Rd, Columbus, OH 43224 Indian Springs Elementary School, 50 E Henderson Rd, Columbus, OH 43214 West Broad Street Elementary, 2744 W Broad St, Columbus, OH 43204 Columbus City Preparatory School, 3450 Medway Ave, Columbus, OH 43213 Yorktown Middle School, 5600 E Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH 43232 1. Light fixtures with asbestos containing wiring to be removed by another contractor. This bid is to reinstall new T8 fixtures with 1. LED "Type B" lamps installed. Fixture replacements must be 1 for 1 in general. No rearragement or rewiring of building wiring is to be done. Wiring down the length of abutted fixtures will need to be done extensively. 2. Permits are required by the City of Columbus for this work. Permits are to be paid for and are the responsibility of the vendor to acquire. 3. Vendor to remove all debris from school site. Dumpsters on site are not to be used. 4. Work to be done at any time of day. The buildings are expected to be unoccupied except potentially for a building custodian during the normal shift. 5. Schedule: Schools are available to the asbestos abatement contractor beginning on Monday, June 1st. The intent is to have all new light fixtures installed by 8/7/2020. Abatement must be ahead of the lighting contractor. The asbestos abatement goals are listed below. The intention is to be completed at a stead state within 8 weeks, or 325 light fixtures per week across the 6 sites. Northtowne - 50 per week if won individually. Medina - 60 per week if won individually. West Broad - 50 per week if won individually. Indian Springs - 50 per week if won individually. Yorktown - 70 per week if won individually. Columbus City Prep School for Boys - 115 per week if won individually. 6. In an effort to allow smaller companies a chance at performing this work during the requried timeframe, each building will be separately awarded. 7. New light fixtures must be installed so that they look professional. This may require painting around the light fixture or purchasing slightly larger fixtures that the installled versions. 8. Contractor provides the light fixture, the labor, and the Type "B" double ended LED T8 lamps. An example price and cut sheet that is an option is attached. The actual fixtures used are up to the winning vendor (but they must use the Type "B" double ended LED T8 lamps). Williams 18 series is one example of a wider than normal wraparound that the manufacturer has told us that they will ship in a LEDT8 version. 9. Weekly progress meetings at 889 E 17th Avenue will be required.
