Description

The North St. Mary’s street project is primarily a street reconstruction project with the inclusion of substantial joint-bid utility work through the project limits. Utility work will include SAWS water sewer and CPS gas work. Water work will include main upgrading all along the St. Mary’s corridor with tie-ins to all street laterals and business. Additional, sewer work will include pipe-bursting on side street laterals with work on the main under St. Mary’s. The sewer main will by primarily open-cut replace-in-place sewer with segments of main to be rehabilitated with cured-in-place pipe (CIPP). CPS Gas main will be upgraded throughout the N. St. Mary’s corridor with tie-ins to laterals on side streets. The city work for this project will consist of full depth reconstruction on N. St Mary’s with a slight realignment of the curb at intersections to accommodate pedestrian bulb-outs and on-street parking at selected locations. The street grade will be cut down to facilitate surface draining along with replacement of curb inlets throughout the corridor. The cuts will necessitate short height retaining walls at selected locations to maintain sidewalk width relative to existing buildings near the street. A new retaining wall will replace the existing one near King’s Ct and St. Mary’s where new stairs and ADA ramp will be installed. King’s Ct will be signed and striped for one-way access and on-street parking. Additionally, a bike lane extension from Josephine to the proposed bike lane on St. Mary’s will be installed. New concrete bus stop pads will be installed at proposed bus stops to extend pavement life.
