Description | As of June 27 2023, a design engineer has been selected. No firm timeline has been established for the construction. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference The County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County will be accepting design proposals from qualified engineering firms for the purpose of preparing contract documents to construct a sewerage collection system to service the Southern Kent Island Sanitary Project - Phase 4 consisting of approximately 20,500-feet of HDPE pressure sewerage main, of various small diameters, utilizing horizontal directional drill techniques, to collect wastewater from the subdivisions of Chesapeake Estates, Sunny Isle of Kent, Matapeake Estates and the community of Batts Neck/Normans all off of Romancoke Road (aka Md Rt 8) on Kent Island. It is intended that these communities will be served utilizing the Septic Tank Effluent Pump (STEP) collection technology however this particular design consists solely of the various collection mains which will accept the wastewater from the STEP served areas (another design contract will address the individual STEP plans for each improved property - the transmission main has previously been constructed along the length of Romancoke Road as a component of Phase 1 and stub-outs into the four communities are in place). Funding for the project will be via the Maryland Department of the Environment's Water Quality Revolving Loan Fund which has Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation goals for this design contract. The County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County reserve the right to reject any or all bids, accept any bid which best benefits the citizens of Queen Anne's County, and waive any irregularities in the bid. Additional questions may be directed to Alan Quimby, Director at 410-758-0920. |
