| Description | The Whatcom County Maintenance and Operations facility, also known as Central Shop, is in need of a roof replacement for the main shop building. The current metal roof is the original roofing material from the from 1981 new construction project. It is not assumed the existing roof shall be demolished. This proposal would install a new Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) roof, and insulation, directly over the existing metal roof. A. The project consists of installing Carlisle TPO Rhinobond Roofing System (or equivalent) as outlined below: 1. Induction Welded TPO to Purlins 2. High Density Coverboard - Mechanically Attached 3. EPS Flute Fill- Fastened Over Existing Metal Roofing a. Apply the TPO Roofing System with the RhinoBond TPO Welding Plate in conjunction with EPS Flute Fill insulation and HD Cover Board over the existing metal roof (or equivalent alternate product). |
