Description

FIRST SET OF RFI RESPONSES Ref specification 11 73 00- Can the weight capacity for the bariatric lifts be reduced from 1100lbs to 1000lbsAnswer: No See Attachment 1 with red arrows on plan to fully understand this RFI. Do the marks on the plans indicate type F8 lighting Answer: No, Type F7 sconce. Please provide information on an F15 light. Answer: Provide typ. Strip light. (Metalux 4SNX-41SL-FDL OR EQ.) Do the F11, F3 & lights in the bulb need separate switching from the room switching Answer: F3 in Bedroom = no. F11 in Team/Med room = yes. Does the project require Cat 6 or Cat 6A cable Both are mentioned on the drawings and spec. Answer: CAT 6A cable is required for all data cables. CAT 6 is required for duress buttons. Are the new data cables going to be terminated in the new (EHRM Project) or existing IT room Answer: The cables will be terminated at the patch panel in the new (designed) IT closet. EHRM project will complete the interior of the IT closet. The interior contents of the new IT closet are not in the Scope of this renovation. Do you want two 24 strand MM fibers installed or a SM and MM fiber Answer: SM Fiber Do you require a Cat 6 cable to each Duress button as the plans state Answer: CAT 6 is required for the duress buttons. Is a representative from the Div. 27 contactor required to provide training on VA provided equipment Answer: No. VA will train on all VA provided/contractor installed equipment. Are 20 mil studs acceptable Answer: The proposed ClarkDietrich 70 ksi G40EQ studs are acceptable. On Sheet AS601, the wall types for smoke and fire rated partitions indicate 3" mineral fiber (mineral wool type) for acoustical insulation. For thermal insulation the notes indicate batt insulation, and the acoustical walls that are not smoke or fire rated indicate batt insulation. Is the insulation noted as batt insulation not mineral fiber (mineral wool) Also, is glass fiber (fiberglass insulation) acceptable at the areas noted as batt insulation Is the thermal and acoustical insulation at the VA was typically mineral fiber (mineral wool type) There is a significant difference between mineral wool and fiberglass insulation. Answer: Specification 07 21 13 for insulation allows only Mineral Fiber for semi-rigid, batt, and blanket insulation. The specification calls out Aluminum ceiling grid for ACT. Aluminum is more expensive than steel. Generally, aluminum is only needed in high moisture areas to prevent rusting. Is aluminum to be used in all spaces Answer: Provide and install aluminum grids at the kitchen areas. Provide and install steel grid elsewhere. Are we to go by the spec supplied or the most current VA spec for Div. 27 Answer: The specification in the solicitation is sufficient as the revisions in most current version do not effect this project. Please use the specification in the solicitation.
