Description

The project includes replacing approximately 4,950 LF of existing 18-24-inch sanitary sewer with new 24- inch DIP via open cut installation. The project also includes replacing/installing 27 manholes, installing 220 LF of 36 steel casings via bore and jack, and installing 275 LF of 36 steel casing for aerial sanitary sewer crossings. Three aerial crossings will be included as a part of the project, requiring removal and replacement of existing concrete piers The City of Shelby is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any or all bids. All Bidders are required to adhere to the rules set forth in Article 1 of Chapter 87 of the NC General Statutes An in-person pre-bid conference will not be held for this project. All bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashiers check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total amount bid made payable to City of Shelby. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 consecutive calendar days after bid opening except as provided in Instructions to Bidders. Bidders must be licensed contractors in the state(s) in which the work is to be completed. Generally, the project will run along East Dixon Boulevard near Shelby High School (see project location map in plan set). The project consists of the construction of a new 24-inch gravity sewer outfall along Hickory Creek in the locations shown in the plan set. B. Provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, services and incidentals necessary to complete all work required by the Contract Documents to furnish and install all work as shown on the Drawings and specified herein. C. Complete the Work, in place, tested, and ready for continuousservice. Perform or provide repairs, replacements, and restoration required as a result of damages resulting from construction operations. D. Furnish and install all materials, equipment, and incidentals, which are reasonably and properly inferable and necessary for the proper completion of the Work, whether specifically indicated in the Contract Documents, or not State of NC MBE/WBE participation goal: 10% (combined)
