Description | The work covers construction of new recreational park improvements including select demolition, tree and stump removal, stormwater management facilities, parking area improvements and additions/paving, multipurpose court and basketball court improvements/paving, pedestrian trail improvements and additions, playground equipment removal/replacement, wooded dog park, disc golf course, cornhole court, horseshoe court, benches, trash receptacles, dog waste stations, park grill, picnic tables, drinking fountain/bottle filler, lawn/landscaping improvements, site lighting and electrical removal/replacement, park sign removal/replacement, etc. within Huidekoper Park located along Williamson Road in the City of Meadville, Crawford County. The contract work shall include furnishing of all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and all appurtenant items necessary to provide a complete and finished project. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Meadville or a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety company in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid, shall be submitted with each bid. No bid or bid security may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the date of bid opening. In the event that the bidder to whom the Notice of Intent to award has been issued fails to begin work on the date stipulated in the Notice to Proceed, the bid security shall then be forfeited and become property of the City of Meadville. The Bidder shall include the fully completed Non-Collusion Affidavit with the bid and other signature documents. Pursuant to the terms and conditions of the Contract Documents, the successful Bidder/Contractor shall furnish performance and payment bonds, each in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total Contract Price, and the successful Bidder/Contractor shall furnish certificates of insurance to demonstrate compliance with the minimum coverages as set forth in the Contract Documents. Bids may be held by the City of Meadville for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders prior to awarding the contract. This project is financed, in part, by a grant from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Bureau of Recreation and Conservation (BRC-PRD-28-83) and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Community Development Block Grant Program. |
