Howelsen Ice Arena Expansion

The Howelsen Ice Arena Expansion will consist of a 4,200 SF addition to the lobby area. The 1st floor of the addition will consist of a new women’s locker room, bathrooms, and an office. The 2nd floor will consist of an ice viewing area, youth programing area, food preparation kitchen, bathrooms and two offices. The scope of work is broadly categorized as follows: Removal of portion of wall between the existing building and proposed addition Finishing existing foundation and pouring a slab on grade (foundation footings and walls were installed during a previous addition of the lobby to the ice arena) Construction of new wood framed addition as well as building overtop of the existing lobby (includes removing existing waterproofing and roofing over existing lobby down to plywood) Building a 2-hr fire wall between the main ice arena structure and the proposed and existing lobby (1hr- fire wall currently exists) Cutting openings into existing ice arena structure for new windows for viewing area Adding egress to second floor – construction of new exterior steel staircase
