Wastewater Treatment System Cell Liner Replacement

This project shall consist of the removal of accumulated wastewater biosolids in two (2) wastewater treatment cells, the removal of two (2) existing wastewater treatment cell liners, and replacement with two (2) new wastewater treatment cell liners. The removal and replacement of two (2) wastewater treatment system cell liners. The County of McHenry owns and operates a wastewater reclamation and reuse system which include two (2) wastewater treatment cells. The existing treatment cell liners are beyond their useful life and need to be replaced. The work shall include removal of the two (2) existing cell liners and replacing with new. (Refer to FIGURE 1-1 for a Process Flow Diagram.) B. Project Overview: 1. Cell #1 has an approximate holding capacity of 1,027,100-gallons and the liner covers an area of approximately 29,000 ft2. The cell shall be emptied and accumulated wastewater biosolids removed and properly disposed of. The existing liner shall be removed and properly disposed of, and a new liner shall be installed. The approved liner material is reinforced polypropylene geomembrane with a minimum thickness of 45 mils. 2. Cell #2 has an approximate holding capacity of 5,261,000-gallons and the liner covers an area of approximately 104,000 ft2. The cell shall be emptied and accumulated wastewater biosolids removed and properly disposed of. The existing liner shall be removed and properly disposed of, and a new liner shall be installed. The approved liner material is reinforced polypropylene geomembrane with a minimum thickness of 45 mils. 3. The Contractor shall field verify all dimensions. (Refer to FIGURE 1-2 for the Treatment Site Cross Section and FIGURE 1-3 for the Treatment Site Plan.)
